For years, the Rajun Cajun Crawfish Festival has been the unofficial start of spring in Memphis and is now the largest one-day crawfish festival outside of Louisiana. Each April, over 35,000 people come down to the banks of the Mighty Mississippi to get their share of 17,000 lbs of fresh, spicy Louisiana crawfish. In addition to the crawfish, Rajun Cajun features several family-friendly attractions including live music from 3 stages with authentic zydeco music on the main stage and other local favorites throughout the day.

Zany Cajun contests such as crawfish eating, crawfish bobbing and crawfish racing happen throughout the day. A festival favorite is the annual Gumbo Cook-Off, where 24 teams compete for the coveted skillet trophy and over $1,000 in cash prizes. Families with younger children can enjoy age-appropriate games and activities in the Kids Area including a spin-to-win prize wheel.

Rajun Cajun is free admission and festival-goers will have plenty of food and beverage options from a variety of vendors. However, no one lets the crawfish go to waste. Attendees are always encouraged to get there early in the day because it always sells out. Upgraded experiences at the Swamp VIP Tent are available for purchase in advance. With the VIP tent, attendees enjoy an unlimited crawfish and Cajun cuisine buffet that includes and sodas, water and beer, plus a shady spot under the big tent to enjoy the music.

Rajun Cajun is the largest fundraiser for Porter-Leath with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the programs and services given at no cost to over 50,000 local children and their families. Remember - eat crawfish, help children!
