Junior Day Camp (Rising PK, JK & K)
Our Jr. Day Camp is open to all rising PK-K students and is housed in our Davis Early Childhood Center. Our Jr. Day Camp provides age-appropriate activities and special events that will not only enhance your child’s summer vacation, but also provide an atmosphere where they can grow socially, emotionally, and physically. Here, children have the opportunity to experience adventures through theme-based arts & crafts, special activities & visitors, and much more! Junior Campers will also expand community and self-awareness through weekly service projects, done in partnership with the Day Campers. All Junior Day Campers are provided rest time (quiet time for Kindergarten campers) after lunch. Day Camp (Rising 1st-6th) Open to all rising 1st-6th grade students, Day Camp provides age-appropriate activities and special events that will not only enhance your child’s summer vacation, but also provide an atmosphere where they can grow socially, emotionally, and physically. Here, children have the opportunity to experience adventures through weekly scavenger hunts, arts & crafts, special visitors each week, SAA-SDS Summer Camp Brochure, and much more! Campers will also expand community and self-awareness through weekly service projects, daily journaling, and guided creativity time.
EXPLORE MEMPHIS WITH DAY CAMP
1st grade - 6th grade Discover the many adventures and activities that Memphis and SAA-SDS will offer this summer. Join us for a summer full of fun, adventure, exploration, and creativity. Like the riverboats that roll down the river, we will travel using S.T.E.A.M.(Science, technology, engineering, art, math) to cruise us along. Let’s explore the possibilities that surround us. This camp is open to 1st-6th graders. DAY CAMP June 7-11 SHAPING MEMPHIS During this week students will learn how Memphis is shaped by the many aspects of our city, through art, music, physical activity, people, innovation, imagination, creativity, and artistic expression. Join us as we create our vision of Memphis June 14-18 FOOD FAIR AND FIREWORKS It’s time for munchin’ in Memphis! Whether it’s pizza, donuts or BBQ, we’ll find a dish that suits just you! Food is culture, and culture is cool, so let’s get cooking at the school! We’ll make our own snacks and recipes. June 21-25 WET WILD WEEK Water art, water games, water stories, crafts with water, and campers will make a homemade Slip and Slide! Let’s explore the wonders of water. June 28-July 2 STARS AND STRIPES WEEK: Snap, Crackle, Pop our way to learn how Memphis observes the 4th of July. Campers will celebrate how Memphis culture celebrates the history of America through art, music, hands-on activities, play, and good southern 4th of July fun. July 5-9 4th of JULY BREAK July 12-16 JUST “ZOO IT” Learn about incredible insects, explore behind-the-scenes locations, visit animal friends, tour parts of the Memphis Zoo virtually, and participate in live and engaging activities. They will even experience hands-on animal scientific activities and learn to care for all types of animals. Finish off the week participating in the Animal Olympics. July 19-23 OLYMPIC WEEK WILD WORLD OF SPORTS Campers will represent a country and explore the various sports, foods, and art from around the world, and get acquainted with some Memphis Hometown Heros! Finally, finish off the week shining in the Stars and Suns Olympic Games. July 26-30 WALK ON THE WILD SIDE Outdoor adventures, bugs, and butterflies, explore the outdoors available at Shelby Farms, camping out on our grounds, gaze at the galaxy of stars at night, cook on an open fire, listen to fireside tales and enjoy creating art from nature. Learn to trek the campus with a compass to lead your way.
