Power of Plants
Did you know that plants contain superpowers? They have been used throughout history for food, play, healing, and wildlife. Each week families will learn folklore, legends, and fun facts while exploring the Garden and creating crafts and plantings. Each class runs from 10 am to noon.
April 2: Plants for Food
Most if not all of the foods we eat every day contain plants. This week we will be looking at roots, shoots, fruits, and other plant parts.
April 9: Plants for Play
Plants have been used in outdoor play for centuries. From daisy chains and mazes to scavenger hunts and plant potions. Explore some fun and educational crafts and games using plants for play.
April 16: Plants for Wildlife
Not all animals are pests to plants. Some plants actually depend on wildlife for survival. Learn about the relationship between plants and animals.
April 23: Plants for Healing
Before we had pharmacies, people used plants to heal everything from a stubbed toe to a heart attack. Plants can help our physical and mental state. Join us this week to plant and gather.
