Our 16th annual Chinese New Year Family Day and Art Contest's theme is A Peaceful New Year for the Rat. The Rat is the first of 12 Chinese Zodiac animals which means that the 12 year cycle begins anew in 2020! Come visit us to celebrate new beginnings with family and friends at the Belz Museum of Asian and Judaic Art.

Chinese New Year is the celebration of the first full moon on the lunar calendar. At the Belz Museum of Asian and Judaic art, we commemorate the occasion with an art contest and family day events including:
Cultural Demonstrations
Paper Cutting and Origami
Chinese Knotting
Calligraphy
Face Painting
Tai Chi Demonstrations
and culturally appropriate films.
Join us as we again team up with the Confucius Institute of the University of Memphis to bring the biggest celebration of the Chinese New Year in Memphis!
