Tree Climbing Fundamentals: Student Field Day

This introduction to tree climbing workshop is designed for students to gain practical training in safe tree climbing.

Topics include safety, team work, and communication, belays and tie-in, climbing great and tools, lines, knots, hitches, and splicing, work positioning and fall protection, and work-oriented climbing. The workshop is taught by certified tree climbers and professional arborists from the North American Training Solutions and the Southern Chapter ISA.

The Workshop takes place from 8:30 am to 11:30 am on Sunday, March 25. Saturday, March 24 includes an optional afternoon pre-workshop tour of the Southern Chapter ISA Tree Climbing Championship. Participating students will receive free membership to the Southern Chapter International Society of Arboriculture.

Participants must be at least 18 years old to attend.   

Participant must complete a liability waiver.
